He was the CEO of Noble Group Holdings Limited, the largest Asian commodity firm and a Fortune 100 company from 2012 to 2016. Mr. Alireza worked for Goldman Sachs Group Inc. from 1992 to 2012 where his last role was CoPresident of Asia and a member of the Global Management Committee.

Mr. Alaa Saeed has more than 16 years of experience at Citigroup in Foreign Exchange, Business Management, Banking, and Digital Finance.

Mr. Saeed has a strong understanding of client, market and technology risks, and his responsibilities included participating in and chairing various management, risk and governance committees. He oversaw the teams responsible for millions of transactions and over $100bn of electronic client commerce per day, and participating in and chairing management, risk and governance committees. The flagship electronic solutions he and his team designed have won more than 90 industry awards.

He has also been recognised by Business Insider as one of the Top 10 People Transforming Finance in Europe and by Financial News as one of the ‘Top 40 under 40 in Trading & Technology’ on numerous occasions.

To champion Bahraini talent, in 2021 he worked closely with Tamkeen and the Bahrain Economic Development Board to launch Citi’s global tech hub in Bahrain, aimed at employing a thousand Bahrainis in highly skilled technology roles.

Usman has over 27 years of diverse international banking experience in emerging markets across the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, of which for the last 14 years he has held various senior leadership roles as CEO, Managing Director, Board Member and Executive Chairman covering Corporate & Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Commercial, Consumer and Islamic Banking in London, Hong Kong, UAE, Philippines, Pakistan, Bahrain and Malaysia.

Prior to joining NBB, he was the CEO and an Executive Board Director of Citi Malaysia, leading over 5,200 employees. Mr. Ahmed was also the Executive Chairman of Citigroup Global Markets Malaysia and concurrently responsible for the Citi Solutions Centres hubs for AML, Securities Services and Cash & Trade operations, covering over 50 countries across the globe.

He has also been the CEO and Managing Director of Citi Bahrain, Kuwait & Qatar, while concurrently being the Global Head of Citi Islamic Banking, based in Bahrain.

As the Chief Operating Officer & Managing Director for Citi’s Asia Pacific Corporate Bank in Hong Kong and the Corporate and Investment Banking Head for Citi in Philippines, Usman was extensively involved in leading strategy and client coverage in Asia after the global financial crisis.

While at Barclays Bank Plc. Usman led a team of over 1,100 client coverage and Transaction Banking product professionals across 14 countries in the MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia regions as the Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking for Emerging Markets, based in Dubai.

Prior to joining NBB, he served as the CFO of Citigroup’s US Personal Banking & Wealth Management Operations, Citigroup China, and Citigroup Philippines. He has demonstrable expertise in finance transformation, balance sheet optimisation, business strategy development, and cost minimisation. Mr. Rahim holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce from the University of Karachi and an MBA from the University of La Verne. Supported by her extensive expertise in strategy and business development, Mrs. Al Zayani oversees the development of NBB’s growth strategy. She engages in identifying and developing growth opportunities for the Bank through organic and inorganic initiatives, including transaction support for the BisB acquisition in 2020. Zaina also leads post- acquisition management related to integration planning and implementation. Mr. Razi Amin joined NBB in 2017 as a Senior IT Manager, and is currently the Group Chief Information Officer, leading the bank’s Digital Transformation and overseeing the efficiency and performance of the bank’s IT Department.

With 22 years of experience in the banking sector, Mr. Amin’s expertise includes an Executive Director role in First Energy Bank, leading a team to establish the bank’s digital infrastructure, as well as several managerial positions in the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, where he played an integral part in the bank’s transformation from 2005 to 2006.

Mr. Amin is a member of the Digital and Cyber Security Committee of the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB), and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the United Arab Emirates University.

Key Responsibilities: Ms. Hend Mohamed Mahmood serves as the Group Chief Human Resources Officer at NBB, where she leads Group-wide human capital strategy. Her responsibilities include overseeing workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement, and the continued evolution of HR practices to support institutional growth and operational excellence.

Career Summary: Ms. Hend has over 30 years of experience in human resources, organisational design, and culture transformation. She has held senior leadership positions across Bahrain’s financial services and government-linked sectors. Prior to joining NBB, she served as Chief People Officer at Bahrain Development Bank (BDB). She has also held the role of Vice President – Human Resources and Administration at Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), with earlier experience including senior positions at Tharawat Investment House and Eskan Bank.

Ms. Hend holds a Master’s Degree in Work and Organisational Psychology from the University of Nottingham (UK) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Bahrain.

Other Engagements: Ms. Hend is a member of the HR Committee at the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) and currently serves as an Advisor to the Bahrain Society for Capital Management. She is also an Executive Coach at Bahrain’s Institute of Public Administration and has also served as the Second Vice Chair of the HR Committee for Airport Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific.

Mr. El Hakim oversees all NBB legal matters and advises NBB’s Board and management with respect to all legal aspects of the business. He was appointed the Group Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in 2020.

Career Summary
He has over 23 years of experience in practicing law across a range of areas relevant to NBB such as commercial and investment banking and Islamic finance. Before joining NBB, Mr. El Hakim worked with GFH Financial Group and BNP Paribas. He holds an LLM in Banking and Finance from Osgood Hall Law School, York University, Canada and an LLB (Licence en Droit Libanais) from Sagesse University School of Law, Beirut, Lebanon and several postgraduate qualifications.

She has over 19 years of experience in the banking and regulatory industry, which includes banking supervision and licensing. Prior to joining NBB, she was the Director of Licensing and Head of Retail Banking Supervision at the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB). She holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor in Accounting from University of Bahrain.

Mr. Abbas is responsible for establishing the Internal Audit vision and plan that support the accomplishment of the Group’s strategic objectives and helps to ensure that established financial, operational and compliance practices, and the related controls, are designed and operating effectively. He oversee the Group’s compliance with applicable regulations and that all audit work conforms to the “Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.” To maintain Internal Audit function independency from the Group’s management, Mr. Abbas reports functionally to the Board Audit Committee and Administratively to the Group CEO.

Career Summary
Mr. Abbas has more than two decades of auditing and banking experience in NBB. Prior to joining NBB, he held roles with Ernst and Young (EY) – Bahrain, a leading multinational firm. During his time with EY, Mr. Abbas was responsible for the audit of a number of clients from different sectors.

Mr. Abbas holds an MBA from DePaul University, USA. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA-UK) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

Mr. Mansour oversees all NBB-KSA operations, and is focused on developing medium-term strategies, positioning NBB-KSA as a regional financial player within KSA.

Career summary
Mr. Mansour has over 28 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining NBB, he was the Regional Head of Corporate Banking in SABB, and had previously held the position of Chief Corporate Banker in NCB (SNB). Mr. Mansour earned his EMBA from the London Business School, graduating in 2010.

Mr. Mansour holds several Board positions in both publicly listed and private companies in Saudi Arabia, including the board of United Cooperative Assurance, Saudi Fisheries, and Southern Province Cement. With a distinguished career in banking, Yusuf Al-Najmi serves as the Head of Retail and Operations at the National Bank of Bahrain, United Arab Emirates (NBB UAE) . Over the past 27 years, he has tremendously contributed to NBB’s growth and expansion having joined the bank in 1995 and held various leadership roles in both the UAE and Bahrain.

In his current role, Mr. Al Najmi leads the retail banking division and operations at NBB UAE leveraging on his extensive experience in trade finance, treasury, and the management of NBB’s branches gained while serving a variety of senior management positions within the Group.

Previously, Mr. Al Najmi has served as the Head of Operations and Head of Retail at NBB UAE and the Head of NBB Dubai Branch.

With more than 20 years of experience across the retail, SME and corporate credit domains in banking, Ashraf Abdulaziz Calcuttawala is the Head of Credit Risk at the National Bank of Bahrain, United Arab Emirates (NBB UAE).

In his current role, Mr. Calcuttawala’s key responsibilities include managing NBB UAE’s credit portfolio, including the review and recommendation of changes in the credit risk framework, strategy and credit risk appetite statement for the UAE as per the Bank’s strategy. He is also tasked with the review of the credit risk lending framework and process through actively contributing to decision-making on credit approval and underwriting and handles risk monitoring and analysis by maintaining and developing the second-line risk identification processes and early warning indicators. In addition, Mr. Calcuttawala is responsible for stakeholder management where he ensures the awareness and compliance of credit risk policy internally across the organization and presents policy changes to external stakeholders such as regulators and auditors.

Mr. Calcuttawala joined NBB UAE from Digital Hub Fintech MENA where he was Partner and Head – Credit and Risk Management Advisory. Prior to that, he has held various executive banking positions including Lead- Corporate Credit and Vice President of SME Policy at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and managerial roles at Standard Chartered Bank and American Express.

Mr. Ashraf holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute, USA and qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He also earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai, India.
